Reivindica si quieres, nadie te obliga, al contrario...

Ayer vi el “nuevo”(apareció en la web oficial el 09/24/2004)videoclip de Rise Against, es del tema Give It All que antes de aparecer en el último trabajo de Rise Against, Siren Song Of The Counter Culture, apareció en una recopilación de grupos punk llamada Rock Against Bush Vol.1, producida por Fat Wret Chords, la productora de Fat Mike, cantante de los NoFX y bajista de los Me First And The Gimme Gimmes. Como decía, el videoclip Give It All, sigue la línea reivindicativa del grupo, y es que Rise Against hace un hardcore bruto y melódico a la vez, con unas letras abrasivas, incendiarias y muy trabajadas. También tiene sus letras simples, como todo grupo, pero lo que hay que reconocer es que todas las letras son viscerales, escritas desde el corazón y con mucha, mucha rabia y mala leche. Uno de las muchos ejemplos que recorren sus tres cds hasta la fecha, es este extracto del bestial temazo Black Masks & Gasoline del cd Revolutions per Minute.

I have an Amerikan Dream,
but it involves black masks and gasoline,

A diferencia de otros grupos que simplemente buscan provocar, Rise Against demuestra que ellos quieren y pueden ir más allá, siguiendo los pasos de otros tantos grupos punk reivindicativos como GoodRiddance, que no se conforman sólo con tocar y con que la gente compre sus discos, sino que se mete en organizaciones y movidas sociales para intentar hacer de este maldito mundo, un mundo algo menos jodido. Así podremos ver en el videoclip de Give It All, que está claramente influenciado por la novela/película El Club de la Lucha, mostrando a un grupo de jóvenes con apariencia inofensiva por el día y por la noche enmascarados y dedicados al vandalismo constructivo, es decir, a combatir con la misma arma que usa y de la que también abusa el sistema establecido, la publicidad. En este caso sustituida por pintadas con spray, mostrando la verdad, si es que existe una verdad. Imperdible las miradas que se cruzan el oficinista y el jefe al final del video.

Rise Against es un grupo de música NO recomendado para todo aquel que piense que la vida se reduce a currar en una cadena de producción de una fábrica para pagar sus facturas cada mes y afrontar las injusticias con resignación y pasividad.

Esta captura es la del final del videoclip, traducido dice así: "Pasé mi vida entera atrapado en una jaula".
